Maintenance Person – Full-Time / Part-Time
Location: Multiple Locations (Local to Bakewell)

Salary: Hourly-£16 (Time & a half on emergency call out)

About the Role:
We are growing as a business and as such on a day to day basis need odd jobs doing, repairs, maintenance and general assistance to keep the business moving.
We are looking for a reliable, experienced and highly practical Handyman to join our team. This is a varied role for someone who is confident working across a wide range of maintenance, repair and improvement jobs.
The ideal candidate will be a genuine all-rounder, with experience in general maintenance as well as knowledge of plumbing, electrical work, gas, carpentry, decorating and property repairs.
No two days will necessarily be the same, so we are looking for someone who is able to assess a problem, find a practical solution and complete work to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out general handyman and property maintenance tasks.
- Basic plumbing repairs.
- Electrical maintenance and fault finding, where appropriately qualified.
- Basic gas-related maintenance, where appropriately qualified
- Carpentry, joinery and general building repairs.
- Painting, decorating - mainly finishing work/ touching up.
- Repairing doors, locks, handles, fixtures and fittings.
- Wall, floor and ceiling repairs.
- General tiling, sealing and grouting.
- Furniture assembly and installation.
- Carry out preventative maintenance and identify potential issues.
- Diagnose faults and recommend practical solutions.
- Work safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
- Keep tools, equipment and work areas clean and organised.
- Complete jobs within agreed timescales.
About You:
We are looking for someone who:
- Has solid experience working as a Handyman, Maintenance Engineer, Property Maintenance Technician, Multi-Skilled Tradesperson or similar.
- Is confident tackling a wide range of jobs independently.
- Has good practical knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry and general building work.
- Ideally has experience with gas systems and appliances, with relevant qualifications where required.
- Has excellent problem-solving skills and a "can-do" attitude.
- Takes pride in producing high-quality work.
- Is reliable, punctual and well organised.
- Can work independently and manage their own workload.
- Has good communication and customer service skills.
- Has a full UK driving licence.
Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience or qualifications in any of the following would be highly advantageous but not a deal breaker.
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- Gas / Gas Safe
- Carpentry / Joinery
- General building
- Painting & decorating
- Tiling
- Heating systems
- Property maintenance
- PAT testing
- Basic plastering / rendering
Relevant trade qualifications are preferred, particularly for regulated work. Candidates must only undertake gas, electrical or other regulated work where appropriately qualified and authorised.
