The Role
Working within our GRP manufacturing department, you will be responsible for producing high-quality GRP bathroom pods and shower pods using chopper gun spray equipment.
You will play a critical role in the early stages of the manufacturing process, ensuring each mould is sprayed accurately and consistently to meet our demanding quality standards.
This role requires excellent attention to detail, pride in your workmanship and a strong commitment to health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare moulds ready for production.
- Spray gel coat to the required specification.
- Operate GRP chopper gun equipment safely and efficiently.
- Apply chopped strand glass fibre and resin to manufacturing specifications.
- Maintain consistent laminate thickness and finish.
- Carry out visual quality inspections throughout production.
- Ensure spray equipment is cleaned and maintained correctly.
- Assist with routine equipment maintenance and fault reporting.
- Monitor resin and catalyst ratios in accordance with manufacturing procedures.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards within your work area.
- Ensure all materials are stored and handled correctly.
- Work in accordance with all Company Health & Safety procedures, COSHH assessments and Safe Systems of Work.

We would particularly like to hear from candidates with experience in:
- GRP Chopper Gun Spraying
- Fibreglass Manufacturing
- Composite Manufacturing
- Boat Building
- Caravan Manufacturing
- Automotive Composite Production
- Aerospace Composites
- Industrial GRP Manufacturing
Experience spraying polyester resin systems and gel coats is highly desirable.
Essential Skills
- Previous experience operating GRP chopper gun equipment.
- Good understanding of resin and catalyst systems.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to consistently achieve high-quality finishes.
- Strong awareness of quality control.
- Ability to follow production drawings and work instructions.
- Good communication skills.
- Reliable, hardworking and dependable.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a production team.
