We're looking for a reliable, flexible and hands-on team member to join Foley Oatcakes – a proud, family-run business with a 60-year legacy of serving up proper Staffordshire oatcakes. (Please note that is not a seasonal job for students)
About the Role
We are looking for a part-time staff memberto help with the below:
- Packing freshly made oatcakes for shop and wholesale orders
- Cooking hot food orders for customers to our high standards
- Keeping the whole shop clean and tidy
- Tracking stock levels
- Working as part of a small, friendly team in a fast-paced environment
Good to know:
- Your hours will vary from starting at 6:00am some days and 2:00pm on Fridays and 6:00am - 1.30pm on every other Saturday.
- The kitchen is hot and the pace is very fast, so this is a physically demanding job.
- Long hair must be tied up or a hairnet/cap must be worn.
- False nails are a not allowed whilst working.
What We’re Looking For
- A team player with a positive, can-do attitude
- A people person, able to hold a conversation with our customers on a regular basis
- Comfortable working in a busy kitchen and able to stay calm under pressure
- Ownership mentality, taking responsibility of your tasks and the overall shop operations
- Good attention to detail – especially when it comes to food hygiene and presentation
- Willingness to learn – no oatcake experience required, full training will be provided
- A reliable & honest person, who sticks to their word, and does what they say they will do.
Any prior food/coffee industry or kitchen experience is prefered but not essential.
Due to early mornings, when public transport doesn't operate, you will need your own form of reliable transport to get you there throughout the year.
The Process
We will meet at the shop for an in-person chat/interview, and then if we are a good match we will schedule you in for 1 or 2 trial shifts to see how you get on. If everything is good, we will offer you the permanent job.
