About the role
We have created an exciting new position to join our award winning team as an Assembly and Manufacturing Operator based at our Ashford facility.
With over 70 years of fabrication, design and sales experience, our indEx team are unique in the supply of hazardous and industrial area enclosures.
Along with our state of the art tooling, machinery and rapid customisation software we provide enclosures with an unparalleled level of quality.
You will follow production safety practices and maintain very high standards of product manufacturing and quality.
We work as a team in all scenarios, for each other and for the success of the company.
Working Hours: 40 hours per week from 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday with a half hour paid break each day.
Annual Leave: 25 Days plus Bank Holidays
Salary: £12.82 an hour with opportunities for occasional overtime
Main Responsibilities and attributes of the position
The duties and responsibilities of the role are as follows:
· To work as part of the Assembly Team to build stainless steel enclosures and any other sub assembly work, such as weld cleaning.
· To undertake any general box assembly work
· To undertake any work allocated to the assembly team
· As part of the assembly work to be able to fit labels and terminals as appropriate and in accordance with any training given
· To assemble various enclosures in accordance with the training given
· Metal finishing such as drilling, linishing, grinding etc – experience in this is an advantage.
· Ability to read and understand technical drawings
· Ability to use a variety of hand / power tools
· Work in a safe and efficient manner.
Education/Qualifications/Experience
To make an impact and be successful within this role the candidate should be able to demonstrate examples of the following:
· An ability to learn as training for this work will be given on site
· An ability to work with their hands
· An ability to follow clear instructions both verbal and in writing
· To be able to work as part of a team
· Be punctual and with a good work ethic and attitude
· Work experience preferably within a manufacturing environment and if possible within the engineering field.
Pay: £12.82 per hour
