Senior Engineer - Audio Processing 24210
Purpose

As a Senior Engineer - Audio Processing, you'll combine hands-on technical expertise with engineering leadership to design, deploy and optimise innovative audio processing solutions across both traditional and cloud-based platforms.
You'll work on business-critical services, influence technical strategy, solve complex engineering challenges and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver exceptional outcomes for customers. Alongside this, you'll play an important role in mentoring colleagues, driving best practice and championing continuous improvement across the engineering team.
Location: Any Arqiva site (hybrid working), with occasional travel to Winchester.

- Between £42k - £60k depending on experience

Accountabilities
- Design, develop and implement innovative audio processing solutions that deliver high performance, resilience and operational excellence.
- Provide technical leadership in the deployment, optimisation and integration of audio processing infrastructure across legacy and cloud-based environments.
- Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical challenges, acting as an escalation point for the engineering team.
- Serve as a Design Authority (DA) or Lead Design Authority (LDA), ensuring robust end-to-end solution design and successful customer delivery.
- Collaborate with internal teams, customers and suppliers to deliver scalable solutions that meet technical, operational and commercial objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement through engineering best practice, standardisation, automation and process optimisation.
- Maintain compliance with relevant industry, regulatory and safety standards while ensuring accurate technical documentation.
- Contribute to capacity planning, investment decisions and technology roadmaps, helping shape the future of Arqiva's audio processing services.
- Stay informed of emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities for innovation and service enhancement.
Mentor engineers and technicians, fostering knowledge sharing, collaboration and technical excellence across the team.

Skills
- Strong understanding of audio processing principles and technologies within broadcast, media or related environments.
- Experience of encoding, multiplexing and audio delivery technologies.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues using a range of engineering tools and methodologies.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and influence technical decisions.
Experience working with virtualisation and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, with the ability to manage priorities across multiple projects.

- Established experience in audio processing.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms and technologies.
Experience with project management tools and methodologies.

Qualifications : A degree (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is advantageous.
