Job Summary
Join our dynamic culinary team as a Kitchen Assistant/Porter. Duties
- Assist in food preparation by washing, peeling, chopping, and organizing ingredients under the supervision of chefs or kitchen managers
- Support cooking processes by preparing simple dishes and ensuring ingredients are ready for use
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including counters, utensils, equipment, and storage spaces
- Ensure proper storage of food items in accordance with safety standards and rotation procedures
- Help with serving food to guests or staff in a timely and professional manner
- Support the overall organization of the kitchen by disposing of waste properly and restocking supplies as needed
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently to uphold hygiene standards at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is highly desirable
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking processes
- Familiarity with kitchen safety protocols and hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues
- Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary arts and hospitality operations
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as required
