Overview
Job Purpose:
To provide high-quality care and education for children in a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment. Support children's learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework while promoting their wellbeing and ensuring their individual needs are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe, caring, and inclusive environment for all children.
- Support children's learning through play and planned activities.
- Observe, assess, and record children's progress and development.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Assist with planning and delivering age-appropriate activities.
- Ensure children's personal care needs are met, including toileting, feeding, and hygiene where required.
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies at all times.
- Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation.
- Encourage positive behaviour and support children's emotional wellbeing.
- Help prepare and maintain clean, organised, and stimulating learning environments.
- Attend staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Work as part of a team to provide the highest standard of childcare.
Essential Requirements:
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education and Childcare (or equivalent).
- Good understanding of the EYFS framework.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to working with children.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children and families.
Desirable Requirements:
- Paediatric First Aid qualification.
- Previous experience working in a nursery, preschool, or childcare setting.
- Food Hygiene certificate.
- Experience supporting children with additional needs.

Working Hours:
Full-time or part-time, with flexibility to work shifts in line with the nursery's opening hours.
Salary:
Competitive, depending on qualifications, experience, and location.
