Skanska has been appointed to the North West and Central Framework and has been awarded a Liverpool Station project. The scheme involves the remodelling of the existing station, platforms, and associated rail disciplines and systems to deliver a modern, enhanced transport hub.
You will be working in the infrastructure OU in where our team brings design, build and refurbishment excellence to complex civil engineering projects nationwide - combining technical expertise with a passion for creating lasting value for people and places.
We are currently looking for a Works Manager who will play a key role throughout both the pre-construction and construction phases of the project.
As the Works Manager, you will:
- Ensure the coordination of and communication between all parts of the operation team including Suppliers, Contractors, Engineering, Safety and Environmental team and Clients’ team.
- Build and develop the team to deliver all aspects of the project requirements; identify training requirements and review the performance of the workforce.
- Provide, monitor and control labour plant and materials to meet the programme.
- Manage General Foreman, Foreman, Contractors and direct workforce inline with project requirements.
- Carry out regular safety and environmental inspections and implement recommended courses of action as identified from progress monitoring and management inspections.
- Support the engineering team in developing and maintaining method statements, programmes, and safe systems of work, ensuring efficient planning and delivery of site operations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records, including digital allocation sheets, delivery tickets, plant returns, inspections, permits, and briefings, ensuring timely submission to engineering and commercial teams and compliance with site requirements.
We are looking for:
- Proven experience in a current Works Manager role.
- Extensive experience with infrastructure rail projects and construction techniques.
- Familiar with Rail Systems and coordination of disciplines (including Planning and integration of possessions).
- Relevant CSCS and PTS Card
- Training in Health & Safety and Environmental management
