About the Role
Castrol Classic Oils is a specialist business supplying automotive oils, products and merchandise through a network of distributors, resellers, and international partners.
We're an established but growing small business, with a hands-on team where people know each other, take responsibility for their work and work together to get things done.
We're looking for a reliable and practical Warehouse Operative to join the team. The warehouse is an important part of the business, and this role offers the opportunity to become a valued member of the team rather than simply being one person in a large warehouse operation. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has good practical common sense and enjoys working as part of a close-knit team.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for receiving, storing, picking and dispatching stock, while helping to maintain an organised, safe and efficient warehouse.
This is a hands-on role in a busy, growing business. You will work closely with Operations and Internal Sales to ensure customer orders are prepared accurately and leave the warehouse on time.
We are looking for someone with good practical common sense who takes pride in doing things properly, works well as part of a team and is happy to get stuck in wherever needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading delivery vehicles, including manual handling and use of a forklift where appropriate.
- Receiving incoming stock, checking quantities and condition, and reporting any discrepancies or damage.
- Putting stock away accurately and maintaining an organised warehouse.
- Picking and preparing customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Packing orders and preparing goods for collection or delivery.
- Loading outbound deliveries.
- Using the warehouse management system to record stock movements and help maintain accurate inventory records.
- Operating a forklift safely to move and arrange stock where required.
- Ensuring products are stored safely, securely and in accordance with relevant workplace and product safety requirements.
- Maintaining good housekeeping standards throughout the warehouse.
- Carrying out regular stock checks and assisting with stocktakes.
- Working with the Operations Manager and wider team to resolve stock, order or delivery issues.
- Following all company health & safety procedures, particularly when handling heavy goods, equipment and automotive products.
- Carrying out other reasonable warehouse and logistics duties as required.
The Person
We're looking for someone who is:
- Practical and hands-on, with good common sense.
- Reliable, conscientious and willing to take responsibility.
- Methodical and organised, with good attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with physical stock and carrying out manual handling.
- A good team player who is happy to support colleagues when required.
- Confident following processes and recording information accurately.
- Able to work independently and use initiative when appropriate.
Previous warehouse experience is preferred.
Forklift experience/certification would be an advantage, but training will be available for the right candidate.
Pay: £25,610.00 per year
