This is a pivotal leadership position responsible for ensuring that all Statutory and Mandatory requirements for Building & Engineering compliance provided by in-house teams and contracting partners are satisfied and all operational performance is being appropriately managed.
The successful candidate will possess a high level of building and engineering technical expertise that will be shared with the Operational teams to provide operational excellence, patient, staff and visitor safety, and effective management of the estate.
In line with the NHS Management and Leadership Framework and Code of Practice, the post holder will demonstrate compassionate, inclusive and accountable leadership, model GSTT values, and create psychologically safe environments in which staff can speak up, learn and improve.
The post holder will use service, workforce and quality insight to identify and reduce inequity, support anti-racist practice, and improve fairness, belonging and outcomes for staff, patients and service users, including people from marginalised groups.
As one of the Essentia Leadership Team you will be required to work one weekend every 3 months and be part of the Directorates on-call rota.
Ensures that the Trust Estate is compliant in terms of Statutory, Mandatory, Regulatory, Best Practice, HTM and other relevant standards, including providing advice on compliance implications of any Department of Health or Health and Safety Executive initiatives or changes in legislation.
Ensure that the Building & Engineering services, both outsourced and in-house, are compliant with the required specification and standard against national statutory, regulatory, best practice and contractual standards; and where there is a gap in compliance to ensure this is escalated to the Head of Compliance.
