About us
We are Starglaze – a window and door company in Lincoln that genuinely doesn't think it's like every other window company. We're proud holders of the Investors in People Platinum award, which is the highest level there is, and it reflects how seriously we take looking after and developing our people.
Our purpose is simple: build lasting relationships through trusted quality, exceptional service and genuine care – looking after our people and our customers so tomorrow's better than today.
We're a real team. Nobody here works in a silo, and nobody's expected to know everything on day one. We'd rather you try things, ask questions and learn as you go than play it safe and stay quiet. As we like to say, a person who never made a mistake never tried anything new – what matters is that we learn from things, adapt and keep improving.
The Drive to Thrive Team is dedicated to driving continuous improvement across the site. Their vision is to improve COTIF (Correct On Time In Full), reduce CONC (Cost Of Non Conformance), and increase OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) while fostering a culture in which leaders own it, improve it, and make it stick.
To achieve these objectives, the team utilises a range of proven tools, processes, and initiatives, including:
- UPAS
- Risk Assessments
- Health & Safety Plans
- Health & Safety Reports
- Health & Safety Week
- Health & Safety Focus Days
- Health & Safety Champions
- Risk Reporter System
- TMS
Through these established methods, the Drive to Thrive Team supports operational excellence, enhances safety performance, and helps build a sustainable culture of continuous improvement across the site.
As part of the Starglaze Platinum Plus (SPP) programme, the Health & Safety Lead will benefit from ongoing coaching, mentoring and professional development from the CEO and Leadership Team. This investment reflects Starglaze's commitment to developing its people, providing the successful candidate with the opportunity to enhance their leadership capability, broaden their business knowledge, and contribute to the company's culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

What we're looking for
Above all, someone who is practical, visible and credible – the kind of person who can spot what needs doing, explain it clearly, and follow it through without making health and safety feel complicated for the sake of it.
You'll likely tick most of these:
- A good working knowledge of health and safety in a busy workplace, ideally manufacturing, production, construction, installation or a similar hands-on environment.
- Organised and reliable – you can manage inspections, actions, paperwork, deadlines and follow-ups without letting things drift.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy – you spot the missing check, the overdue action, the unsafe habit or the risk assessment that needs updating.
- Confident communicating with people at every level – from shop floor conversations to clear emails, reports and meeting updates.
- A chaser, not a waiter – happy to follow people up politely but firmly until actions are completed.
- Practical and hands-on – comfortable spending time where the work is happening, not just working from a desk.
- A positive, can-do attitude – you’d rather help people find a safer, better way than simply say “no”.
A recognised health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH General Certificate would be a strong advantage. What matters most is that you are credible, organised, willing to learn, and able to bring people with you.
In return, you’ll be backed by a leadership team who’ll support you, listen to your ideas and give you room to improve how we work safely.
What you'll get
- A friendly, busy team that genuinely looks out for each other.
- A proper focus on development, recognition and wellbeing – including our Employee Assistance Programme, Wellbeing Champions and a buddy to help you settle in.
- Reward and recognition that actually happens – Employee of the Week/Month, long-service awards, birthday vouchers, Perkbox and regular "thank you" treats and events.
- A workplace that takes its people seriously (that Investors in People Platinum award isn't just for show).
