Main purpose of the role
Newly renovated Restaurant with Rooms, being launched in phases later this year. Responsible for the overall operational, financial and commercial success of the venue while maintaining its warm, community-focused character. Must balance high-volume food and beverage service with local hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Operations;
- Serve as the visible front of house contact, interacting with customers and embedding the pub in the local community.
- Accommodate guests needs, not only with the bar and restaurant but also in room bookings.
- Ensure exceptional service standards across the bar, restaurant and outdoor beer garden.
- Resolve guest complaints swiftly and monitor online reviews to maintain a premium reputation.
- Execute seasonal events, functions, and community initiatives to boost footfall
Team Leadership & Culture;
- Recruit, hire and retain high performing front of house team members.
- Partner with the Head Chef to ensure seamless communication between kitchen and floor teams.
- Training, implement ongoing product knowledge training for both wet and dry products.
- Staff who are underperforming, need to be dealt with, trained and retained where possible.
Standards & Compliance;
- Serve as the Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS), Bettws Hall happy to put you through this training if you do not already have it.
- Maintain strict food hygiene, health and safety and fire safety standards.
- Oversee cash handling, the safe and open and close security procedures.
Strategic Growth;
- Accountable for the departments P&L and managed through GPs by the Hospitality Manager.
- Budgets will be set from head office and discussed prior to the financial year, will be down to you to monitor and manage to make sure they are met.
- Product sourcing and costs. Work with the Head Chef to manage inventory, supplier deliveries and ensure you buy quality products at the best price.
- Marketing is a key aspect of growth for the department, and you will be solely responsible for this with the assistance of the company’s marketing consultant.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience, typically 10+ years of progressive management experience in hospitality, with at least 2 years in a senior leadership role.
- Skills, strong financial acumen, exceptional communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in hotel management.
Pay: From £50,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
