HOLIDAY CAMP LEAD COACH
Pay: £13.50 to £16.50 per hour, inclusive of rolled-up holiday pay
Location: Woodlands Primary School, Tonbridge, Kent, TN10 4BB
Dates: Monday 19 October to Friday 30 October 2026, weekdays only
Hours: Approximately 8.00am to 5.00pm
Contract: Full-time or part-time fixed-term contract, with potential opportunities during future school holidays
Training: Paid pre-camp training will take place on a weekend. Attendance is required and the date and timings will be confirmed in advance.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Rising Stars Activities is looking for energetic, reliable and confident Lead Coaches for our new multi-activity holiday camp at Woodlands Primary School.
You will take responsibility for a group of children aged 4–12 and deliver varied, well-organised sessions including sports, active games, creative activities and team challenges.
This is more than simply running activities. You will help every child feel included, build confidence and have a genuinely enjoyable school holiday.
Rising Stars has delivered high-quality childcare and activities for more than 10 years. Our approach combines safe, professional childcare with positive, engaging activities in a fun and non-pressurised environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, prepare and lead safe, inclusive and engaging activities for groups of children
- Adapt sessions for different ages, abilities, confidence levels and needs
- Take day-to-day responsibility for your group’s safety, wellbeing and enjoyment
- Complete regular headcounts and follow register, transition and collection procedures
- Set clear expectations and manage behaviour positively and consistently
- Notice when a child needs additional encouragement or support and respond appropriately
- Brief and guide Assistant Coaches so sessions run safely and smoothly
- Set up, check and put away equipment and activity areas
- Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, first-aid and incident-reporting procedures
- Communicate clearly with the Venue Manager and contribute positively to the wider team
- Welcome parents and carers professionally when required
ABOUT YOU
You will be a strong fit if you:
- Have experience leading groups of children in sport, childcare, teaching, youth work, clubs or holiday camps
- Can lead a room or activity space with warmth, confidence and clear boundaries
- Bring energy and creativity while remaining safety-conscious and well organised
- Are patient, inclusive and able to engage children with different interests and abilities
- Are reliable, punctual and comfortable taking responsibility
- Work well as part of a team and respond constructively to feedback
- Can attend the required paid weekend training session
- Have the right to work in the UK
A relevant sports, childcare, playwork, teaching, performing-arts or creative-activity qualification is desirable but not essential where you have strong practical experience.
A paediatric first-aid qualification is preferred but not required.

Appointment is subject to safer-recruitment checks, including satisfactory references, proof of identity and right to work and an Enhanced DBS check for regulated activity.
Applicants must hold an appropriate Enhanced DBS or be willing to complete a new check before starting work.
