The Role
We are looking for a dynamic, results-driven Assistant Gym Manager to take the helm at Jetts Maidenhead We aren't just looking for someone to keep the lights on; we need a leader who can drive membership growth, build a strong community, and elevate the member experience.
As the face of the facility, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, sales strategy, and team management. This is a hands-on role requiring a blend of commercial acumen and a genuine passion for health and fitness.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales & Retention: Drive new membership sales through local marketing initiatives, community outreach, and converting walk-ins. Implement retention strategies to minimise churn and maximise member lifetime value.
- Operations: Oversee the day-to-day running of the facility, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, safety, and equipment maintenance. Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and motivate a team of Personal Trainers, front-of-house staff, and fitness instructors. Conduct regular performance reviews and foster a high-energy, positive work environment.
- Financial Management: Manage the Profit & Loss (P&L) for the site, hitting revenue targets, controlling payroll and operational costs, and driving ancillary revenue (PT, retail, etc.).
- Member Experience: Handle member inquiries and complaints with professionalism, ensuring every member feels supported and valued.
What We Are Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a natural leader with a commercial mindset.
- Proven experience in a Assistant Gym Manager(AGM) role within the fitness, leisure, or hospitality sector.
- A strong track record of achieving sales targets and growing membership bases.
- REPs Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified is highly desirable, though operational expertise may be considered in lieu of a current qualification.
- First Aid at Work qualified (or willingness to obtain).
- Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills (experience with [e.g., Gladstone / Virtuagym] software is a plus).
- A flexible approach to working hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required by the business.
