Availability requirements: Part-time, up to 22.5 hours a week. We operate between the hours of 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday. Set days, start and finish times would be agreed.

Rate: From£14 per hour

Interview: There will be a 2-stage interview process. If successful with your application, we will invite you to a formal, in-person interview, where we will discuss the role, ask you some questions and review your portfolio.
At the next stage, we would ask you to complete a task in-person. This would involve laying out a document using an asset pack (AI will not be permitted). With a maximum of 1 hour to deliver.
The Company:
Black Liquorice Company Ltd has grown over recent years, and we are now looking for a Multi-disciplinary Designer to join our creative and exciting confectionery company.
For 11 years, BLC has imported, manufactured and packaged liquorice, confectionery and gifting to sell to the trade and public. We design products and packaging in-house for our own brands and our clients. The company is dynamic and ever-evolving, which creates a varied and fulfilling environment for our employees. Our Brands: Black Liquorice Company, Nordic Premium Liquorice, Lovely Liquorice Cables and Awesome Advent Calendars.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a Designer with oodles of creativity and imagination. With excellent professional office skills.
You would be working directly with our Managing Director, who leads our innovation and design process. Also, with our Digital Marketing Apprentice, and the wider team. You will be in direct contact with our clients, so communication skills and professionalism are a must.
We are a small business, that packs a punch. As part of the office team, you would be expected to answer phones and carry out related administrative tasks, to support the flow of operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- The design and management of our websites, with a focus on SEO.
- Designing and running packaging range projects and other general assets, internally and for clients.
- Working collaboratively with the team to complete cohesive designs across the board.
Requirements:
- Education:
- A relevant Bachelor’s level degree or higher, or the equivalent on-the-job experience.
- Experience:
- Working as a Designer for a minimum of 1 year.
- Working in a professional environment.
- Running key projects with success.
- Skills we are looking for:
- Digital design experience.
- Graphic design experience.
- Excellent attention to detail, and an ability to self-critique your own work.
- The ability to work efficiently and meet targets.
- Non-reliance on artificial intelligence, especially for design work.
