About the Role
As Café Assistant Manager, you will take responsibility for the smooth running of the café, ensuring excellent standards of food, service, cleanliness, and team performance are maintained at all times. You will lead from the front, supporting your team and creating a welcoming environment for both customers and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding hospitality and customer service experiences
- Lead, mentor, coach, and develop café team members
- Conduct training and support ongoing staff development
- Manage daily café operations and service standards
- Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally and effectively
- Monitor stock levels, ordering, and stock control processes
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards are maintained
- Drive team performance through strong leadership and communication
- Support the preparation and service of food and beverages when required
- Maintain allergen awareness and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a hospitality management or café management role
- Excellence in hospitality and customer service
- Strong people management and leadership skills
- Hands-on approach with a willingness to support all areas of the operation
- Experience mentoring, coaching, and developing teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and stock management abilities
- Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification (or above)
- Allergen and compliance awareness
- Flexible and adaptable approach to working hours and business needs
- Ability to remain calm and effective in a busy environment
- Cooking or kitchen experience/knowledge would be advantageous
- Understanding of hospitality KPIs and team performance metrics
Working Hours
We understand the importance of work-life balance and offer accommodating working hours.
- Applicants must be able to commit to at least one weekend day each week
- Additional hours will be worked during weekdays based on business requirements, and both weekend days may be required subject to business needs.
