Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, proactive and highly organised Industrial Cleaning Supervisor to lead a team of industrial cleaners across our client site.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating a team of five cleaning operatives, ensuring that daily cleaning activities are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. This is a hands-on supervisory position, and the successful candidate will be expected to lead by example while ensuring the team is correctly allocated across the required work areas.
A key part of the role will be acting as the day-to-day point of contact for the client, maintaining regular communication regarding progress, priorities and any issues arising on site. You will also be responsible for keeping DCS management regularly updated through clear communication, including progress updates, photographic reports and escalation of any concerns.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise, coordinate and support a team of five industrial cleaning operatives on site.
- Organise and allocate the cleaning team to the correct work areas based on daily priorities and client requirements.
- Liaise with the client on a daily basis, discussing work requirements, progress, priorities and any additional requirements.
- Ensure all cleaning activities are completed to the required quality standards and within agreed timescales.
- Maintain high standards of Health & Safety at all times, ensuring team members follow site rules, safe working procedures, RAMS and relevant company policies.
- Conduct regular checks of completed and ongoing work to ensure standards are being maintained.
- Provide clear instructions and guidance to team members and ensure everyone understands their responsibilities for each shift.
- Lead by example and provide hands-on support with industrial cleaning activities when required.
- Clean and sanitise industrial equipment, workspaces and surrounding areas in accordance with site requirements.
- Ensure hand tools, power tools, cleaning equipment and machinery are used correctly and safely.
- Coordinate the safe removal of debris, waste materials and other substances from designated work areas.
- Identify and report potential hazards, maintenance issues, quality concerns or operational problems promptly.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards and ensure cleaning equipment, tools and materials are stored safely and correctly.
- Monitor cleaning supplies and equipment and communicate any requirements to management.
- Maintain regular communication with DCS management, providing updates on progress, staffing, client requirements and any issues arising on site.
- Produce regular photographic progress and quality reports, providing management with clear evidence of completed works and site standards.
- Escalate any significant Health & Safety, quality, staffing or client concerns to management promptly.
- Help maintain a positive and professional working relationship between the cleaning team, DCS management and the client.
Experience & Skills
- Previous experience within industrial cleaning, facilities, construction or a similar industrial environment is desirable.
- Previous supervisory, team leader or management experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to organise, motivate and manage a small team effectively.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety and the importance of maintaining safe working practices within an industrial environment.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain and inspect high standards of work.
- Confident communicating directly with clients, site personnel and management.
- Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise work across multiple areas.
- Comfortable providing written updates and photographic reports using a mobile phone or similar device.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools and industrial cleaning equipment is beneficial.
- Ability to identify problems and take appropriate action or escalate issues when necessary.
- Reliable, professional and able to remain calm and organised within a busy industrial environment.
- Willingness to work hands-on alongside the team when required.

You will act as the important link between the client, cleaning operatives and DCS management, ensuring expectations are understood, work is completed correctly and management has clear visibility of progress through regular communication and photographic reporting.
Pay: £14.20 per hour
