We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and motivated individual to join our Recycling team as an Assistant/Trainee Recycling Manager at our busy operation in Hithermoor, Staines.
Reporting to the Recycling Manager, this role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your management and operational skills within a fast-paced recycling environment. You will work closely with site Supervisors and Operatives, playing a key role in maintaining high standards of safety, quality and environmental performance, while supporting the efficient day-to-day running of the operation.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone looking to build a long-term career in the recycling and aggregates industry, with the opportunity to learn, develop and make a real impact on the business.
About Your Role
- Support the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
- Assist in driving continuous improvement through effective planning, organisation and performance monitoring.
- Develop a strong understanding of all aspects of the operation through a hands-on approach to site management.
- Monitor incoming waste streams and liaise with other departments regarding material quality and compliance requirements.
- Promote and contribute to a positive SHEQ culture, ensuring company standards and procedures are followed at all times.
- Lead by example and help set high standards for employees, contractors and site visitors.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues across Commercial, Transport, Technical and other support functions.
- Support the effective utilisation of people, plant and equipment to maximise operational performance.
- Assist with the completion of site records, reporting requirements and performance monitoring activities.
- Contribute to the development of operational processes and site efficiencies.

- Previous experience in recycling, waste management, aggregates, quarrying or a similar operational environment.
- An aspiring leader looking to develop a career in operational management.
- A team player who is equally comfortable working in an office environment and actively participating in site operations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
- The ability to remain focused and organised in a busy operational environment.
- Experience of, or willingness to learn, site administration, record keeping and performance monitoring.
- A self-motivated individual who takes ownership of their responsibilities and demonstrates a proactive approach.
