Location: MoD Estate, South Wales
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm
40 hours per week

The Role
We are looking for an experienced and dependable Carpenter & Multi Skilled Tradesperson to join our growing team.
This is a varied role involving planned and reactive maintenance, refurbishment and construction works across Ministry of Defence (MoD) establishments throughout South Wales.
The successful candidate will have excellent carpentry skills together with experience across a range of general building trades, enabling them to deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out all aspects of first and second fix carpentry.
- Install, repair and maintain doors, windows, frames, skirting boards, architraves, kitchens, flooring and fitted furniture.
- Construct and install timber structures, partitions, flooring, roofing components and decking.
- Undertake general building maintenance and refurbishment works.
- Carry out basic plumbing, tiling, painting, decorating and minor plastering repairs as required.
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications and work instructions.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
- Safely operate and maintain hand tools, power tools and site equipment.
- Order and manage materials for projects, with support from your Manager.
- Liaise professionally with site management and customers.
- Maintain clean and tidy working areas and comply with all Health & Safety requirements.
- Complete work within agreed timescales and budgets.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Carpenter and Multi-Skilled Tradesperson.
- Excellent carpentry knowledge and practical skills.
- Experience in:
- Carpentry
- Basic plumbing
- Tiling
- Painting and decorating
- General building maintenance
- Minor plastering repairs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent).
- PASMA, IPAF or other relevant site qualifications (training can be provided).
- First Aid at Work qualification (training can be provided).
- Experience working within commercial maintenance, facilities management or construction environments.
