Lead Landscaper / Working Foreman

A Greener Vale is expanding and we're looking for an experienced Lead Landscaper / Working Foreman to take responsibility for running landscaping projects alongside a small team.
This is not a general labouring position. We're looking for someone with strong hands-on landscaping experience who is confident taking a project from start to finish, organising the team and maintaining a high standard of workmanship without needing constant supervision.
The Role
You will work as the lead person within a small landscaping crew, initially alongside two labourers.
You'll be responsible for understanding the job specification, organising the work, keeping the project moving efficiently and making sure everything is completed to the required standard.
The role will include:
- Porcelain and natural stone patio installation
- Ground preparation, excavation and sub-bases
- Setting accurate levels and falls
- Drainage and ACO installation
- Fencing and gates
- Sleeper beds and retaining features
- Turfing and garden preparation
- General landscaping and garden transformations
- Confident use of power tools and landscaping equipment
- Reading measurements and working from job specifications
- Organising and directing labourers on site
- Keeping sites organised, clean and safe
- Identifying problems before they affect the finished job
- Maintaining a high standard of finishing throughout the project
What We're Looking For
You must have genuine practical landscaping or relevant construction experience.
We're particularly interested in someone who:
- Can confidently run a landscaping project without constant supervision
- Has experience installing patios correctly from preparation through to finishing
- Understands levels, falls, drainage and ground preparation
- Can organise and manage other workers effectively
- Takes pride in their workmanship and attention to detail
- Is reliable and turns up when expected
- Works safely and keeps an organised site
- Can communicate professionally with customers when required
- Can identify mistakes or problems and raise them rather than covering them up
- Is comfortable working outdoors in a physically demanding role
A driving licence and reliable transport are highly desirable.

We're a growing landscaping company carrying out patios, fencing, turfing, drainage, sleeper work and complete garden transformations throughout Cardiff and the surrounding areas.
We're now expanding our workforce and building separate landscaping crews capable of running multiple projects simultaneously.
