Learner Services Advisor - Plymouth, Devon

Salary: £26,300 to £28,800 per annum (FTE)
Employment type: Term-time only, contract, 37.5 hours per week

As a Learner Services Advisor, you will play a vital role in supporting learners throughout their educational journey. You will be the first point of contact for learners, providing guidance, advice, and assistance to ensure they have a rewarding and successful experience with us. These roles will have a particular focus on high needs funded learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive support and guidance to learners, addressing enquiries related to course information, enrolment, and progression.
- Maintain accurate learner records and update databases to ensure information is current and compliant with data protection standards.
- Assist with induction processes, helping learners to settle in and understand available resources and support services.
- Work closely with academic and administrative teams to coordinate learner support activities and resolve issues promptly.
- Signpost learners to additional support services such as counselling, financial advice, and careers guidance.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of learner services by gathering feedback and suggesting enhancements.
- Support compliance with regulatory and funding body requirements through accurate record-keeping and reporting.
- Provide specialist support appropriate to individal learners' needs, including learners with education and health care plans (EHCP's)
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience working in a learner support, student services, or similar advisory role within the education sector.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Proficient IT skills, including experience with MS Office and learner management systems.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Empathy and a genuine passion for supporting learners to achieve their potential.
- Knowledge of relevant educational policies, safeguarding, and data protection legislation is desirable.
