About the Role
The post holder is responsible for the coordination and movement of palletised parts, components, raw materials and the loading of vans and lorries.
The successful candidate will work closely with a variety of highly skilled and experienced managers, who will provide employees with the drive to succeed the opportunity for career progression in the organisation.
Responsibilities & Duties
Your main responsibilities and duties will include:
Movement of Materials
- To load, unload and move materials (finished parts, components and raw materials) within the factory production areas, including loading and unloading onto pallets, racks and shelves at required work areas and storage areas.
- To liaise with in-house contracts delivery, assembly, installation and production departments regarding the loading and collection of finished and unfinished goods / items.
- To operate forklift ensuring the load is secure and safe at all times – certified operators only.
- Arranging transport and freight deliveries, including the loading of lorries and vans
Stock Control / MRP System
- To enter data into the companies computerized MRP production system. Training will be given in this regard.
- The undertake accurate component counts, stock takes and production of accurate delivery notes ensuring a high degree of accuracy.
- To Interrogate MRP system, recognize instructions and follow them, question
- To scan the material manually while stocking and notify the supervisor immediately if any deficit is visible.
- To enter daily transactions in the relevant software to include Recycled Parts.
Maintenance / Cleaning / Housekeeping
- Perform regular checks of Materials Handling equipment as required (Fork Trucks, Pump Trucks & other equipment). Ensure equipment parked in a safe and secure manner.
Who we are looking for:
To succeed in this role you will need to be someone who:
- Hiab operators’ certificate would be advantageous
- Previous work experience undertaking a similar role in manufacturing, construction, dispatch or warehouse environment is essential.
- GCSE English and Maths
- Fork lift & Side Loader Certification
- Manual Handling
