Marketing Operations Director
Marketing at Thomson Reuters is being rebuilt around AI — not as a bolt-on efficiency play, but to enhance and transform our ways of working. We're looking for a Marketing
Operations Director for Corporates Europe who will embrace this, working in close collaboration with the global organisation to make sure AI is not simply as a tool to adopt,
but as a capability to architect.
This isn't a traditional operations role. Yes, you'll bring rigour to process, budget and martech — the fundamentals matter. But the real mandate is bigger: to reimagine how a
European marketing organisation runs, using AI agents to take on the work that used to take a team, freeing up Design, Content, Field Events and Activation to focus on the work only
humans can do.
If you're energised by ambiguity, excited by AI, and want a role where you're building the operating model rather than inheriting one, this is it.
About The Role
- Act as the driving force behind AI adoption across the Corporates Europe marketing organisation — not just implementing tools, but shaping how the team thinks, works and creates value with AI, in alignment with the global organisation.
- Identify, pilot and scale AI solutions that take on execution-heavy work — campaign builds, reporting, content production support, briefing and QA — so the team can focus on strategy, creativity and judgement.
- Map key marketing processes end-to-end — understanding exactly where the work happens today — as the essential foundation for identifying where AI can remove friction, cost and manual effort.
- Build the change management, training and governance model that gets the wider team using AI confidently and responsibly, in an increasingly sophisticated way.
- Represent Corporates Europe in Thomson Reuters' broader AI-in-marketing agenda, bringing back best practice and helping to push the organisation's thinking forward.
- Review, rationalise and optimise the martech stack supporting marketing operations — evaluating tools not just for functionality, but for how well they enable AI-driven and agentic ways of working.
- Partner closely with the Corporates US marketing operations team to ensure strong platform alignment, shared standards and consistent data flows across regions — avoiding duplication and unlocking global scale where it makes sense.
- Build the business case for new capability, working with IT, procurement and vendors to bring new tools into the stack quickly and safely.
- Take ownership of the Corporates Europe marketing operations budget — planning allocations, tracking spend and reforecasting as priorities shift.
- Build robust ROI measurement across campaigns, channels and tools, bringing rigour and transparency to how marketing investment translates into pipeline and revenue impact.
- Use AI-driven insight and reporting to give leadership a sharper, faster view of what's working — replacing static reporting with something closer to real-time intelligence.
- Take line management responsibility for the Design and Content teams, setting direction, priorities and ways of working.
- Take on line management of Design, Conten and Campaign Activation
- Coach and develop the team through a period of real transformation — bringing people with you, building AI fluency and confidence at every level.
We're not looking for a caretaker. We're looking for someone who wants to build something new and is credible enough, curious enough and hands-on enough to make it happen. You'll likely bring:
- A track record in marketing operations, marketing transformation or a related discipline, ideally within a complex, matrixed, international organisation.
- Real, hands-on experience with AI in a marketing context — you've used AI or automation tools yourself, not just read about them, and you can speak credibly about what's genuinely possible today versus hype.
- Proven ability to map and redesign processes, and to translate that understanding into practical automation and AI use cases.
- Strong martech expertise — platform selection, integration and optimisation — and experience aligning ways of working across regions or teams.
- Commercial fluency: comfortable owning a budget, building a business case and demonstrating ROI to senior stakeholders.
- People leadership experience, with the ability to bring diverse teams (Design, Content, Events, Activation) together around a shared, AI-enabled way of working.
- The mindset of a builder: comfortable with ambiguity, energised by experimentation, and unafraid to challenge 'the way we've always done it'.
