You’ll work alongside our Bar Staff and Supervisors, helping keep the venue clean, organised and running smoothly.
You won’t be expected to know everything from day one. We’ll teach you the basics, give you experience working in hospitality and help you develop the skills to progress within the business.

Under 18s
This role is particularly suited to people under 18 looking for their first hospitality job.

The role will focus on areas such as:
● Glass collection.
● Table clearing.
● Cleaning.
● Restocking.
● Customer-area presentation.
● General venue support.
● Learning how a busy hospitality venue operates.
Under-18 team members will not be expected to carry out duties that they are legally prohibited from performing.
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need previous hospitality experience.
We’re looking for people who are:
● Friendly and approachable.
● Reliable and punctual.
● Hard-working and willing to get stuck in.
● Comfortable working as part of a team.
● Happy working in a fast-paced environment.
● Confident speaking to customers.
● Willing to learn.
● Able to follow instructions.
● Proud of keeping things clean and organised.
● Positive and professional.
Previous experience isn’t required — we’re much more interested in your attitude.
Progression
Bar Support is the first step into the bar team at The Birdhouse.
As you gain experience and demonstrate that you’re ready, there will be opportunities to progress into:
Bar Support → Bar Staff → Bar Supervisor → Duty Manager
We’ll support you in learning new skills and taking on more responsibility as you develop.
The Birdhouse Standard
Everyone at The Birdhouse plays a part in making the venue great.
As Bar Support, you might not be the person serving the drinks, but you’re still a huge part of the customer experience.
A table covered in empty glasses, a dirty floor or an empty glass rack affects the whole team.
We want people who notice what needs doing and get on with it.
If you’re looking for your first job, want to learn hospitality and want the opportunity to progress, Bar Support at The Birdhouse could be the perfect place to start
