We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Social Sciences Teacher to teach one or more of the following subjects: History | Sociology | Law | Politics
The role involves teaching IGCSE/GCSE, AS and A Level students and would suit a teacher with strong UK curriculum experience and a proven record of preparing students successfully for external examinations.
Experience with Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel, AQA, OCR or other UK examination boards is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
· Teach high-quality lessons at IGCSE/GCSE, AS and A Level.
· Plan engaging lessons in line with examination board specifications.
· Prepare students effectively for external examinations.
· Develop students' analytical, evaluative, essay-writing and examination skills.
· Use past papers, mark schemes and examiner reports to improve performance.
· Set and mark assessments, mock examinations and coursework where applicable.
· Monitor student progress and provide targeted academic support.
· Support students with revision, independent study and university progression.
· Maintain high academic standards and a positive learning environment.
Essential Requirements
· Degree in Sociology, History, Law, Politics, Social Sciences or a related subject.
· PGCE, QTS, PGDE or equivalent teaching qualification preferred.
· Strong experience teaching within the UK education system or British curriculum.
· Experience teaching GCSE/IGCSE and/or AS/A Level.
· Excellent subject knowledge and understanding of UK examination requirements.
· Strong classroom management, communication and organisational skills.
· Proven ability to help students achieve strong examination outcomes.
Desirable
· Ability to teach two or more Social Sciences subjects.
· Experience with Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel, AQA or OCR.
· Previous Sixth Form or college teaching experience.
· Experience supporting UCAS applications, predicted grades and university progression.
· Examiner or moderator experience with a recognised examination board.
