About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on Assistant Bar Manager to help lead the day-to-day running of the bar and support bar service across our weddings and events. You'll work closely with the Venue Manager, supervising shifts, keeping standards high, and stepping up to cover the Bar Manager when needed. This is a great opportunity for an experienced bartender or supervisor ready to take on more responsibility in a well-run, growing venue.
Key Responsibilities
Supervising bar shifts and leading the team during service across the bar, weddings and events
Stock control and cellar management, including line cleaning, deliveries, stock rotation and wastage recording
Ensuring compliance with licensing, Challenge 25, weights and measures, allergen and health & safety requirements
Maintaining and updating bar menus, including cocktail specs, plating standards and till (EPOS) accuracy
Training and mentoring bar staff to deliver consistent drinks and excellent customer service
Handling petty cash and completing end-of-day reporting and cash-up procedures
Monitoring bar equipment and reporting maintenance issues promptly
Liaising with suppliers on orders and deliveries
Providing cover for the Bar Manager during periods of absence
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in a bar supervisor, team leader or assistant management role
Confident cocktail knowledge and high standards of drink presentation
Strong understanding of licensing law and responsible alcohol service
A calm, organised approach during busy service, with great attention to detail
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, including occasional weddings and events
A genuine passion for hospitality and developing others
Personal licence holder desirable but not essential
