- Friday: 07:45 – 14:45

We're looking for a Quality Assurance Technician – Pyrotechnics to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail, a passion for quality and an interest in chemistry and pyrotechnics.
The Role
As a Quality Assurance Technician – Pyrotechnics, you will play a key role in ensuring every product leaving our factory performs consistently and safely to the highest standards.
Working closely with the Quality Assurance Manager and Head of Chemistry, you will carry out product testing, analyse performance and investigate any products that do not perform as expected. You'll identify the root cause of issues and contribute towards implementing effective solutions that improve product quality and manufacturing processes.
This is a practical, hands-on role that combines quality assurance, testing, investigation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine testing of pyrotechnic products to ensure they meet Le Maitre's quality standards.
- Assess product performance, including ignition, height, burn time, colour, consistency and overall effect.
- Record and analyse test results accurately.
- Identify products that do not perform to specification.
- Investigate quality issues and assist in determining the root cause of failures.
- Work closely with the Quality Assurance Manager and Head of Chemistry to recommend and implement corrective actions.
- Support production teams by identifying opportunities to improve product consistency and quality.
- Assist in testing new products and development trials.
- Maintain accurate quality records and testing documentation.
- Ensure all testing is carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the Quality and Production departments.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a Quality Assurance, Quality Control or testing environment.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to investigate technical issues methodically.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- A practical, organised approach to work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Chemistry qualification or relevant scientific background.
- Experience within manufacturing.
- Experience working with pyrotechnics, explosives or other energetic materials.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis and continuous improvement techniques.
- Experience interpreting technical specifications and quality standards.
