Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Podiatrist to join our healthcare team, providing expert foot and ankle care to diverse patient populations. The clinic
The candidate will join our team of MSK physiotherapists, osteopaths, sports therapists and occupational therapists to provide the very best patient care. An interest in MSK podiatry and MSK health as a whole is therefore crucial. The clinic already utilises technologies like Gait and Motion Footscan and PHITS orthotics which the chosen candidate will have training and access to. An on site gym and studio allows for further rehab of foot and ankle conditions and clinic rooms designed to host services like joint injection therapy provide an ideal clinical set up.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ foot, ankle, and lower limb health, utilising clinical examination techniques.
- Diagnose conditions such as bunions, heel spurs, diabetic foot ulcers, ingrown toenails, and sports injuries.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans that may include medication administration, physical therapy, orthotic fitting, or minor surgical procedures.
- Provide patient education on foot health maintenance, injury prevention, and proper footwear choices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including osteopaths, physiotherapists surgeons, physical therapists, and nursing staff to coordinate holistic patient care.
- Document patient histories, treatment progress notes, and follow-up plans accurately in medical records.
- Stay current with advances in podiatric medicine through ongoing education and clinical research initiatives.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy related to the lower extremities and foot biomechanics.
- Proven ability to deliver compassionate patient care.
- Experience managing complex cases involving critical decision-making.
- Knowledge of public health principles relevant to diabetic foot management and preventive care strategies.
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
