Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Bench Joiner to join our workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for crafting, assembling, and finishing components for kitchen cabinets. The ideal applicant will possess a strong background in carpentry and joinery, with experience in fabrication and assembly, ensuring precision and attention to detail in all tasks undertaken.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate bespoke wooden components according to detailed drawings and specifications.
- Assemble joinery elements using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to ensure accuracy and durability.
- Operate a variety of hand tools such as chisels, saws, planes, and clamps efficiently and safely.
- Use power tools including drills, sanders, routers, and saws to complete tasks effectively.
- Assist with the installation of joinery products on-site where required, including fitting windows, doors, or customised furniture.
- Perform heavy lifting of timber and materials safely whilst adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment to ensure safety standards are met at all times.
- Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople such as electricians or plumbers for integrated project delivery.
- Follow health & safety procedures diligently during all aspects of fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
Skills
- Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, and carpentry work with a focus on joinery.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as chisels, saws, hammers, and clamps.
- Skilled in operating power tools including drills, routers, sanders, and saws safely and effectively.
- Ability to undertake heavy lifting safely while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship.
- Good organisational skills with an eye for detail to produce precise joinery components.
- Excellent understanding of health & safety regulations relevant to workshop environments.
- Experience working on-site or within a workshop environment in construction or bespoke furniture manufacturing is desirable.
