GP RECEPTIONIST - PERMANENT

About Us
Craigshill Health Centre is a friendly, well-established GP Training Practice serving 8,900 patients. Our team includes 6 Partners, 2 Salaried GPs, 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, a full complement of Nursing and Reception staff, and GP Registrar. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality care in a supportive and collaborative environment.

About the Role
We are looking for a Medical Receptionist to join our dedicated team. As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, you will play a vital role in ensuring a welcoming atmosphere and smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

Greet patients and visitors warmly, creating a positive first impression.
Schedule and confirm appointments.
Handle incoming calls and direct them appropriately.
Maintain accurate patient records and uphold strict confidentiality.
Process patient forms and documentation.
Work closely with clinical staff to ensure an efficient service to patients.
Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and data entry.
Repeat prescription processing.
Support the Office Manager with additional duties as required.

Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a busy environment.
Previous experience in healthcare or customer service is desirable but not essential.
Commitment to patient confidentiality and data protection regulations.

Hours

Core Shift is 12:00pm - 6:00pm Monday to Friday. 30 hours per week.

Additional shifts will be available throughout the week to cover for holidays. Morning and Afternoons

Please note that due to the needs of the practice, we can only accept applicants who can work the hours stated above.

Salary

Please note that the annual salary is Agenda for Change Band 2 (pro rata).

We are situated in a Craigshill Health Centre with onsite parking. Previous NHS experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
