Quantity Surveyor – Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP)

About the Role
79 Group Ltd is looking for a motivated and commercially minded Junior Quantity Surveyor / Project Quantity Surveyor to join our growing Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) division. Working across a diverse range of commercial projects throughout the UK, you'll play a key role in supporting the successful commercial delivery of our MEP installations.

Key Responsibilities
As our Junior / Project Quantity Surveyor, you will:

Assist in the commercial management of Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) projects from pre-construction through to completion.
Prepare and monitor project budgets, cost plans, cash flow forecasts and commercial reports.
Assist with the procurement and management of specialist MEP subcontractors and suppliers, including tender analysis and contract administration.
Prepare applications for payment, valuations, variations and final accounts.
Monitor project costs, identify commercial risks and opportunities, and support effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers and site teams to provide commercial support on live projects.
Assist in the administration of contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
Support the management of change control, claims and dispute resolution where required.
Contribute to value engineering initiatives, helping deliver commercially viable and efficient MEP solutions.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.

About You
We're looking for someone who is eager to develop their career and has a genuine interest in the construction and building services industry.
Ideally you'll have:

Experience as an Assistant, Junior or Project Quantity Surveyor within construction, MEP or building services (or be a recent graduate with relevant industry placement experience).
A degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline (or working towards one).
A good understanding of construction contracts, procurement and commercial processes.
Excellent numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive internal and external working relationships.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
A proactive/can do attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
A full UK driving licence required.
