Full job description

We are seeking to appoint a Project Coordinator and Executive Assistant to join the GSK-Oxford Centre in Biostatistics and Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (CeBAM) at the University of Oxford. This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in a high-impact scientific initiative at the forefront of advanced medicine, artificial intelligence and biomedical data science. The role is designed with a 70% focus on project support and programme coordination for CeBAM, alongside a 30% focus on providing dedicated Executive Assistant (EA) support to Professor Chris Holmes, Centre Director. Led by Professor Chris Holmes and Dr Nicky Best, CeBAM brings together expertise in statistics, artificial intelligence, engineering and biomedical data science to address fundamental methodological challenges that accelerate medical and biopharmaceutical research.

You will play a key role in supporting the smooth and effective delivery of CeBAM activities by coordinating projects, maintaining operational processes, supporting communication across research teams and stakeholders, monitoring progress and milestones, and contributing to the organisation of meetings, workshops and scientific events. Working closely with colleagues across Statistics, BDI, the Nuffield Department of Medicine and external partners, you will help foster collaboration and ensure effective delivery across the Centre. Alongside these programme responsibilities, you will provide high-level Executive Assistant support to Professor Chris Holmes, managing complex diary commitments, travel arrangements, correspondence and confidential administrative matters with professionalism, discretion and excellent judgement.

It is essential that you are educated to degree level or have equivalent experience, with proven experience in project coordination, programme administration or a similar role within a complex and fast-paced environment. You will have excellent organisational and communication skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, experience working with senior stakeholders, and strong digital literacy. Experience in financial monitoring, committee support, research administration or Executive Assistant support would be advantageous.

This position is offered full time on a fixed term contract until 30 September 2028
