Full job description

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team on Night Shifts at our 25 bed Care Home in Risca, working 2 shifts per week between 19.15-07.30am, providing exceptional care to our elderly residents. The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care, medication administration, possess leadership skills, and be able to communicate effectively with residents and colleagues. You should possess a minimum Level 3 QCF/NVQ in Health & Social Care.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement individual care plans for residents
Provide high-quality personal care to residents, ensuring their dignity and independence are maintained
Supervise and support junior care staff in delivering excellent care
Utilise IT systems (Log My Care) for record-keeping and reporting
Drive continuous improvement in care standards within the care home

Skills

Experience in senior care is essential
Minimum Level 3 QCF/NVQ in Health & Social Care
Experienced in Medication Administration
Ability to create and manage effective care plans
Strong leadership skills to supervise junior staff
Proficiency in using IT systems for documentation and reporting
Excellent communication skills to interact with residents and colleagues

On successful completion of a 6 month probationary period, staff are enrolled onto a health & wellbeing program which provides cashback on certain dental, optical and medical services as well as a 24/7 counselling service and shopping discounts.
