Full job description

Head Chef / Kitchen Manager

WINGING IT

Pay: £15.00 per hour

Hours: 45 hours per week

Working Pattern: Wednesday to Saturday (set rota)

Days Off: Sunday, Monday and Tuesday

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced, organised and self-motivated Head Chef / Kitchen Manager to take full responsibility for running our kitchen. This is a standalone role, requiring someone who is confident working independently and capable of managing all aspects of the kitchen efficiently while maintaining consistently high standards.

The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, ensuring smooth service, excellent food quality, full compliance with food safety regulations, and a clean, well-organised working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Take sole responsibility for the daily operation and management of the kitchen.
Prepare and deliver high-quality food efficiently during service.
Plan and organise daily prep to ensure a smooth and effective service.
Maintain excellent standards of food quality, presentation and consistency.
Ensure full compliance with all food hygiene and health & safety legislation.
Complete all required daily food safety records, temperature checks and documentation.
Maintain cleaning schedules and ensure the kitchen is kept clean, organised and compliant at all times.
Manage stock levels, minimise waste and report ordering requirements where necessary.
Ensure all equipment is used safely and report any maintenance issues promptly.
Work efficiently to meet service demands while maintaining high standards.

Essential Requirements

Previous experience as a Head Chef, Kitchen Manager or Senior Chef.
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
Strong understanding of food safety and HACCP procedures.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and take full ownership of the kitchen.
Calm, reliable and professional under pressure.
A positive attitude with a strong work ethic.

What We Offer

£15.00 per hour.
Guaranteed 45 hours per week.
Fixed working rota (Wednesday to Saturday).
Every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday off.
