We are seeking an experienced Protection and Control Group Discipline Lead for our growing P&C team. You will be based in one of our key offices in Birmingham, Epsom, Glasgow or Leeds, working closely with clients and internal teams to deliver best-in-class solutions to support the electricity sector (HV substations, HV cables, Transmission & Distribution, Overhead Lines, HVDC). The sector is undergoing unprecedented growth at the moment, and a growth mindset is critical for the lead role.

Line manage a team of protection and control engineers, providing mentorship, performance management, and career development support. Ensure a high level of communication, engagement, and pastoral care throughout the team.

Focus on growth (recruitment, onboarding, retention) to enable the team to sustainably grow to match the market demand.

Provide Technical Leadership: Lead P&C FEED and detailed design work for major transmission scale projects, ensuring technical integrity and compliance with client specifications.

Drive Quality Assurance: Drive quality and assure the delivery of FEED, detailed design, and bid submissions to the highest standards.

Ensure that staff are technically equipped to deliver high-quality work to clients (through training, development and culture).
In addition to having strong communication and leadership skills, you will have experience in and be able to demonstrate a selection of the following attributes:

Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications and experience.

Experience in staff development, line management, team leadership.

Chartered Engineer and a member of IET is desirable. TP-141, CDAE qualifications highly desirable.

Proven experience in P&C design of substation protection schemes, IEC 61850, SCADA/SAS integration, interlocking, control systems) in UK or internationally.
