We are looking for a skilled and passionate Dental Laboratory Technician to join the Prosthetics Department at Devonshire House Dental Laboratory.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected, full-service dental laboratory with a long-standing reputation for quality, precision and excellence. Working from our purpose-built, state-of-the-art laboratory in Babraham, near Cambridge, you will work alongside an experienced team of technicians producing high-quality removable prosthetics for dentists and patients across the UK.
As a Prosthetics Technician, you will be responsible for fabricating removable prostheses in accordance with dentist prescriptions, combining technical skill, attention to detail and craftsmanship to achieve consistently high-quality outcomes.
You will also have opportunities to further develop your skills, with training available in implant-retained prosthetics and orthodontics where required.
As part of our Prosthetics team, your responsibilities will include:
- Fabricating high-quality removable prostheses in accordance with dentist prescriptions.
- Articulating cases and producing custom trays, wax occlusal rims and wax try-ins.
- Processing removable prostheses and casting plaster models.
- Wire bending, polishing, finishing and repairing damaged or broken appliances.
- Liaising directly with dentists where clarification or variation from a prescription is required.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the laboratory, including our CAD/CAM technicians.
- Completing relevant forms, reports, logs and laboratory records accurately.
- Using laboratory materials, equipment and supplies efficiently and responsibly.
- Helping to maintain equipment and appropriate stock levels.
- Following laboratory protocols, quality assurance procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Contributing to continuous improvement by reviewing processes and identifying opportunities to improve quality and efficiency.
- Maintaining and developing your professional knowledge through training, education and professional networks.
- Taking ownership of new and different requests and identifying opportunities to add value for our clinicians and patients.
Experience in vacuum-formed appliances and orthodontics would be advantageous but is not essential. Training can be provided in implant-retained prosthetics and orthodontics as required.
