Full job description

Your local British Red Cross shop has a variety of activities available for volunteers to support us in. From sorting stock & preparing donated items for sale to providing great customer service to our donors and customers - we have something to suit most people’s interests. Our shop is a great place to learn new skills and share existing ones. **We are currently looking for Till and Customer Service volunteers to help us in our shop.** If you have a positive outlook, enjoy speaking to new people and are confident in learning how to use a shop till, then this may be for you. **Till and Customer Service volunteer typical activities:** - Using the shop till to take payment for donated items. - Promoting Gift Aid to maximise our fundraising potential. - Taking donations - Helping and advising customers - Undertaking general activities in the shop No experience is needed, and full training will be provided. This role may suit people who wish to gain experience in retail, someone with retail experience and skills they wish to pass on to others or simply anyone who wants to get involved with their local shop! **When can I volunteer?** A few hours during the week/weekend - as agreed with the shop manager. There is no minimum commitment or fixed hours, we only ask that we agree hours you are confident you can attend and that you let us know where these hours may change. **Interested?** Please click the apply button and we will be in contact soon. **Not sure?** We have a range of opportunities and activities for volunteers in our shops, including Stock Assistant volunteers and more. Sorting donations for selling in the shop

Helping customers on the shop floor

Using the till

Skills: No previous experience is needed

A warm smile and a friendly outlook

Complete training (provided) prior to starting
