Caritas St Joseph’s Centre is seeking a warm, organised and reliable Reception and Administration Assistant to be the welcoming face of our Centre. This is a varied and rewarding role supporting the day-to-day administration of the Centre while providing excellent customer service to visitors, students and staff.

About the Role

As Reception and Administration Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of reception services and administrative support across St Joseph’s Pastoral Centre (SJPC). You will work closely with colleagues to create a welcoming, safe and supportive environment for all who use the Centre.

Key Responsibilities

Operate the reception desk in line with Centre policies and customer service values
Welcome visitors and students, ensuring a positive first impression
Ensure visitors sign in and out in accordance with Health & Safety requirements
Manage name badges for all Centre users
Handle general email enquiries promptly and professionally
Maintain stationery stock levels at reception
Provide administrative support to SJPC
Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who is not only competent in administration but who also embodies our diocesan values of Competence, Reliability, Honesty, Perseverance, and Love.

Essential:

Excellent communication and organisational skills
Experience working in an office environment
Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships
Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Publisher)
Understanding or experience of working with people with disabilities
Commitment to the mission and values of the Diocese of Westminster
Sensitivity and respect for diverse groups

Desirable:

A desire and commitment to work for the Catholic Church
Basic understanding of the Catholic Church and its structure

Experience working in a faith-based or charitable setting is welcome but not essential.
