The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of people and activity across warehouse operations. The role holder will ensure that work is carried out safely, efficiently and in line with agreed processes, quality standards and regulatory requirements. The Warehouse Supervisor will lead and support their team on shift, manage basic people processes including timekeeping and attendance, and act as a first point of contact for operational issues, investigations and performance management. The role plays a key part in maintaining a safe and compliant working environment, supporting employee wellbeing and delivering operational targets.
Warehouse Operations
- Oversee day-to-day activity within the allocated warehouse area, ensuring work is planned and resources are used effectively
- Set daily priorities, allocate tasks and keep work flowing through the shift
- Intervene early where issues could affect output, accuracy or service
- Provide cover across warehouse operations when required
- Adapt approach to support business needs, including regulated activities where applicable
- Share daily priorities, changes and updates clearly
- Feedback operational risks, issues and improvement ideas
Health & Safety Compliance
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Complete routine safety, housekeeping and compliance checks
- Identify hazards or unsafe behaviour and ensure appropriate action is taken
- Support incident reporting and follow-up where required
Systems & Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve safety, efficiency or layout
- Support implementation of agreed changes or trials
- Use of WMS and various platforms to generate figures to track and report against set KPI’s
- Train, coach, develop and support the team with systems in your area IE, booking in, put away, voice picking, Amazon LPR, various trackers etc.
Customer Service & Communication
- Liaise with internal departments and management to ensure service excellence.
- Handle escalations and resolve operational issues quickly and effectively.
Leadership & Team Management
- Provide visible leadership and support to warehouse operatives
- Maintain a regular presence on the warehouse floor
- Coach individuals in the moment to reinforce correct ways of working
- Act as the first point of contact for questions or operational concerns
- Record attendance, timekeeping and payroll-related information accurately through required channels
- Conduct return-to-work meetings and support absence management
- Contribute to investigations and performance-related discussions
- Monitor productivity, accuracy and adherence to standard processes
- Highlight performance gaps and support agreed corrective actions
- Maintain safe, orderly and compliant working practices
- Contribute to improvements in how the warehouse operates
- Remain flexible and hands-on in a changing environment
Qualifications

Relevant supervisory experience or equivalent practical experience in a warehouse or operational environment [Essential]

- Ability to manage time, priorities and workload effectively [Essential]
- Sound judgement and confidence to address issues as they arise [Essential]

Experience
- Experience supervising or leading a team within warehouse operations [Essential]
- Experience managing attendance, timekeeping or payroll-related records [Desirable]
- Experience carrying out safety checks and hazard reporting [Essential]
- Experience supporting investigations, return-to-work meetings or performance reviews [Essential]
- Experience working to productivity, quality or service targets [Essential]
