Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Care Workers to provide essential support and care to individuals in their own homes. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors and those in need of assistance. This role involves delivering personal care, companionship, and support with daily living activities, ensuring that our clients feel safe, respected, and valued.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care assistance including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Assist clients with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
Support clients with meal preparation and feeding as required.
Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote emotional well-being.
Administer medication as prescribed and monitor client health conditions.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the supervising nurse or care manager.
Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed.
Implement behaviour management techniques when necessary to ensure a calm environment.

Experience

Previous experience in senior care, assisted living, or hospice care is preferred but not essential.
Knowledge of first aid practices is advantageous.
A caring attitude with a strong desire to help others is crucial for success in this role.
Ability to work independently while also being part of a team-oriented environment.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
