Deputy Manager - Children's Residential Home

Salary: £ 15.30 - £ 15.80 per hour. £65 per sleep in

Location: Birmingham , B27

Are you an experienced Deputy Manager or Team Leader / Senior Support Worker with a background in Residential Child Care specialising in caring for Young people and looking to take the next step up in your career? Are you seeking an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of Young People? Look no further!

Haven Care Group are on the lookout for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join the Management team within a specialist Children’s Residential Home in theBirmingham area. This role is full time, with a requirement to work shifts on a 1 day on 2 day off pattern, and to carry out between 6-7 sleep in shifts every month.

To be successful as a Deputy Manager with HCG, you will need to possess the following essential attributes:

Minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with Young People that have social and emotional difficulties, or behaviour that challenges.
Minimum Diploma Level 3 or 4 in Residential Child Care (Children and Young Peoples Workforce) or equivalent.
Experience in leading and supervising a team within a Residential Child Care setting
Full UK Manual Driving Licence
Ability to work shifts and sleep in the home overnight

As a Deputy Manager you will be responsible for a range of duties as set out below:

To deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager
To assist the Registered Manager in the implementation of all aspects of the Statement of Purpose
To work in partnership with other professionals to achieve optimum outcomes for young people. To offer supervision and support to senior staff in line with Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
Attending childcare reviews and planning meetings to provide information and achieve best outcomes for young people
Undertaking direct work with young people and acting as an appropriate role model.
Assist in developing systems in which young people are consulted about the quality of care they receive
Working in partnership with parents, carers, and other professionals to safeguard and promote the welfare of young people.
Chairing children’s meetings and facilitating consultation with young people generally

Please note that you must be 21 years of age or above to apply due to children’s homes regulations.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
