We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to improve the way software is built, tested, released and operated across our engineering environment.
You'll work closely with development and infrastructure teams to improve deployment pipelines, automate infrastructure and remove the manual steps that create delays or release risk. You'll also be involved when things go wrong in production, helping engineers identify whether the problem sits within the application, deployment process or underlying infrastructure.
This is a hands-on engineering role. You'll be expected to make changes yourself, maintain the tooling you introduce and take ownership of the reliability of the delivery process rather than simply managing tickets or coordinating releases.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Design, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines used across development and production environments.
- Automate application builds, testing, deployments and infrastructure provisioning.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or equivalent tooling.
- Manage Kubernetes and Docker-based environments, including deployments, configuration, resource limits and troubleshooting.
- Work with developers to improve application deployment processes and reduce failed or manually managed releases.
- Implement deployment strategies such as rolling, blue-green or canary releases where appropriate.
- Maintain development, staging and production environments and ensure configuration remains consistent between them.
- Investigate failed builds, deployment errors, container issues and infrastructure-related production incidents.
- Develop scripts and internal tooling using Python, Bash, Go or PowerShell to remove repetitive operational work.
- Implement monitoring, logging and alerting around deployment pipelines and production services.
- Manage secrets, credentials and environment configuration using appropriate security controls.
- Review pipeline and infrastructure configurations for security weaknesses and unnecessary access.
- Support release planning and production changes for applications with strict availability requirements.
- Improve build and deployment performance by identifying bottlenecks within existing pipelines.
- Work with engineering teams to introduce practical standards for source control, branching, releases and infrastructure changes.
- Maintain documentation for deployment processes, infrastructure configuration and operational procedures.
- Take technical ownership of DevOps projects, including migrations and replacement of legacy tooling.
