The role:

As Social Care Charging Officer you will work as part of a team who are responsible for conducting financial assessments, dealing with enquires from service users in relation to care charges, and administering deferred payments
You will liaise with care providers to ensure charging bills are accurate and liaise with colleagues in Adult Services for customers who may lack capacity
You will assist with managing incoming payments and recording them on the appropriate systems
You will undertake annual reviews of care charges to ensure assessments are up to date and correct
You will ensure that work is carried out in accordance with relevant legislation, Council policy/guidance and manage and monitor customer accounts for the provision of care in accordance with the Council’s Fairer Charging policy
Where appropriate, you will ensure overpayments are recovered in accordance with agreed overpayment and debt recovery procedures
