If you are successful and are from outside of the Civil Service you can expect your salary on appointment to be £135,000 per annum. If you are an existing civil servant, your salary will be agreed in line with the Civil Service pay rules in place on the date of your appointment.

The position of Director General, Propriety & Constitution offers the successful candidate an unrivalled opportunity to work in one of the most critical roles in the department and be at the very centre of government. Reporting directly to the Prime Minister and the Cabinet Secretary you will shape and implement strategy for Number 10, the Cabinet Secretary, the Royal Household, and Cabinet Office ministers.
We are looking for an individual with an outstanding record of leadership, good judgement and political antennae, and the ability to set strategic direction for a number of teams in the Cabinet Office. You will need to have resilience and the presence to influence and engage the most senior stakeholders across the Civil Service and government.
