Location: Maidenhead Town Centre
Rate of Pay: £14.40 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:00pm
Start Date: Early to mid-October
About the role
We’re looking for a Commis Chef to join the opening team at a brand-new corporate workplace in Maidenhead (Opening October).
This is a newly built, state-of-the-art and environmentally focused building with a modern food offering and a strong focus on quality.
The role will be predominantly focused on hospitality and lunch service, but flexibility is key. With events, visitors and different hospitality requirements taking place across the site, you’ll have the opportunity to work across a varied range of food preparation and service.
This is an excellent opportunity for a chef who wants to develop their skills in a modern corporate hospitality environment and be part of a new kitchen team from the very beginning.
What you’ll do

Prepare, cook and serve menu items under the direction of the Head Chef.

Follow recipes, specifications and food safety procedures.

Support hospitality food preparation and service.

Help deliver lunch and daily food service to a high standard.

Assist with events, visits and ad hoc hospitality requirements.

Support the kitchen team with ordering, stock receipt and storage where required.

Ensure stock is rotated correctly and stored safely.

Assist with food presentation and service.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness across the kitchen and catering areas.

Complete due diligence checks and records as required.

Use catering equipment safely and report any defects.

Support the team in maintaining high food safety and allergen standards.

What you’ll bring

NVQ Level 2 or equivalent professional chef qualification.

Previous experience within a kitchen or hospitality environment.

An interest in developing your career within a modern corporate hospitality setting.

Good food preparation and presentation skills.

A strong understanding of food safety and allergen requirements.

High standards of personal hygiene.

The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

A customer-focused approach and confidence working in a hospitality environment.

Flexibility to support different events, visits and service requirements.
