Job Title: Customer Service Assistant

Location: Rainham, Essex
Contract Type: Full Time

JP Logistics Solutions Limited is a UK registered company and the logistics division of the long-established Pan Jamaica Group, whose history dates back to 1929. Initially established to serve the needs of the Jamaican banana industry for shipping and logistical support within the United Kingdom it has, over the years, used this experience to develop and expand its activities. Today it is a major supplier of global logistical services. Its head office is based in Newport, Wales and has offices in London, Miami and Jamaica.

About the Role

We are seeking a organised and proactive Customer Service Assistant to support our operational teams and deal directly with the general public in person, over the phone and via email , ensure customer service is maintained to our highest standards, and to assist with other duties as required, to ensure the smooth running of the London Depot. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has strong communication skills, and takes pride in accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Answering incoming sales calls and assisting with the completion of Bookings
Preparing and issuing quotations via email and telephone
Taking payments from customers, both cash and PDQ
Assisting customers face to face in the office with any shipments or enquiries
Creating bookings based on customers shipping instructions
Preparing Invoicing and shipping documentation
Booking collections with haulage &/or own drivers

Candidate Profile

Strong Communication Skills, both written and verbal
Competent user of Microsoft Excel
Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment
Proven ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
High level of attention to detail and accuracy
Professional, reliable, and team-oriented approach
