Full job description

We are seeking a reliable, self-motivated, and professional individual to join our team in a dual caretaking and event support capacity. Working under the guidance of the Town Hall Manager, you will play a key role in the smooth operation, safety, and management of events across two historic local venues: Chipping Sodbury Town Hall and The Old Grammar School. Due to the hospitality-driven nature of our operations, this role requires a highly flexible schedule, predominently evening and weekend shifts, as well as providing critical cover for staff sickness and holidays. The contract is offered on a zero hours basis to meet business needs. Self employed candidates will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Event Support: Under the direction and delegation of the Town Hall Manager, assist with the seamless coordination, and execution of various events and functions.
Autonomous Operation: Work independently using your own initiative while strictly adhering to venue guidelines and procedures (training provided).
Venue Caretaking: Maintain the security, cleanliness, and presentation of the buildings during operational hours.
Customer Excellence: Act as a welcoming and professional point of contact for clients, visitors, and community members.

Key Requirements

Local Proximity: Applicants must reside locally to effectively accommodate short-notice shifts and operational demands.
Flexibility: A adaptable approach to working hours is essential to meet fluctuating business needs.
Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, outstanding interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities are required.
Technical Aptitude: Proficient keyboard and basic computer skills are highly advantageous.
Health & Safety: Prior experience with venue health and safety protocols is preferred, though comprehensive training will be provided for the right candidate.

Job Type: Zero hours contract
