At One YMCA, we believe that ending homelessness requires more than providing accommodation. Through our award-winning Dynamic Pathway to Independence model, we deliver person-centred support that helps individuals overcome challenges, build confidence, and achieve sustainable independent living. We are looking for an organised, professional, and customer-focused Receptionist & Administrator to join our Housing & Communities team in both Hatfield and Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. This role plays a key role in supporting residents, colleagues, and visitors across our housing services.

About the Role: As the first point of contact for residents, visitors and external stakeholders, you'll provide a warm, professional and efficient front-of-house service while supporting the day-to-day administration of our housing services. You'll manage a variety of administrative tasks, including maintaining accurate records, handling correspondence, data entry, diary management and processing purchase orders, ensuring all information is kept up to date and handled confidentially. Working closely with colleagues across the service, you'll play a key role in the smooth running of our accommodation services, helping to create a positive, welcoming and well-organised environment for both residents and the wider team.

What You'll Do

Provide a professional and welcoming reception service.
Act as the first point of contact for residents, visitors, and stakeholders.
Manage telephone, email, and face-to-face enquiries.
Maintain accurate records, databases, and filing systems.
Support diary management, correspondence, and general administration.
Process purchase orders and other service-related documentation.
Ensure confidentiality and data protection standards are maintained.
Support the wider team in achieving service objectives and performance targets.

You will have:

Previous experience in a reception, administration, or customer service role.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
The ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
A professional, friendly, and customer-focused approach.

This is a Full Time role.
Hours per week: 37.5
Working Pattern: This role operates on a rolling rota and includes weekend and Bank Holiday working to ensure continuous support for residents.

One YMCA and its subsidiaries, the Early Childhood Partnership (ECP) and Signpost are on an exciting journey to double our impact by 2025. Provision of over 700 units of accommodation for homeless people
Move on accommodation for individuals moving onto independent living
Housing and practical/emotional support for young asylum seekers
Community HUBs hosting a range of activities and meeting space hire
Childcare provision in Hertfordshire
Family support through a network of children’s and family centres covering Hertfordshire and Bedford
Therapeutic and non-therapeutic support for male and female victims of domestic abuse and their children
Independent sexual violence services across Bedfordshire, Luton and Hertfordshire
Domestic abuse perpetrator reform programmes across Bedfordshire
Youth services offering emotional wellbeing support and youth club opportunities for 11-19 year olds alongside our National Airplay programme funded by the RAF Benevolent Fund
