Role Overview:
The Finance Controller is responsible for overseeing the organisation's financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting strategic decision-making. The role manages accounting functions, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, cash flow management, and financial analysis to drive business performance and safeguard company assets.
You will have strong people skills, a positive can-do attitude and be comfortable working within a rapidly expanding and changing business environment.
The successful candidate will work on a hybrid basis with an office based in Alton, Hampshire and will have the following activities to undertake:
Financial Management & Reporting
Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure timely and accurate management reporting.
Analyse financial results and provide insights to senior management.
Monitor key financial performance indicators (KPIs).
Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Coordinate annual budgeting and periodic forecasting activities.
Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts.
Identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
Support business planning and strategic initiatives.
Financial Control & Compliance
Develop and maintain effective internal controls.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and policies.
Oversee statutory reporting requirements.
Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and funding requirements.
Optimise working capital, including receivables, payables, and inventory management.
Support treasury and banking relationships.
Leadership
Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence throughout the business.
Support decision-making through data-driven insights.
Evaluate business risks and opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent).
Extensive experience in finance, accounting, or financial management.
Experience managing financial reporting processes.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and accounting principles.
Advanced financial analysis and forecasting skills.

Advanced Excel and financial systems
proficiency (ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics)

Pay: £36,000.00-£54,000.00 per year
