Analyst - Grade 1 - Inorganics

We are seeking a Laboratory Analyst Grade 1 to join our Inorganics team at ALS Coventry . This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to play a key role in ensuring samples are tested accurately and efficiently, with procedures followed carefully and results recorded in line with company standards and targets.

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, meticulous and methodical in their approach, with a genuine enthusiasm for laboratory work.

Hours Per Week: 37
Days Per Week: Monday to Friday (14:00 - 22:00)
Contract: Full Time and Permanent

The Day to Day

Understand customer requirements.
Ensure samples are completed efficiently and effectively following all process, procedures, and legislation.
Deliver on key performance indicators.
Report and understand analytical data.
Participate in the Taste and Odour panel on a rotational basis following screening.
Assist team members to achieve work objectives.
Proactively ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures

The Essentials

Qualifications required are a minimum of five GCSEs at Grade C (equivalent to the new Grade 4) or above, which must include Chemistry (essential), as well as Mathematics and English. Applicants must also hold an A level, or equivalent qualification, in Chemistry or a closely related scientific subject, with a strong emphasis on chemical principles and laboratory practice.
Ability to follow instructions and procedures, with a willingness to learn.
Client focused approach with a solution oriented mindset.
Excellent communication skills
Computer literate
Ability to plan and organise own work area.
